"Worst in the First".
What's that mean? What's this blog about?
Well "the First" refers to the State of Delaware. The "First State" is one of a number of nicknames. It is derived from the fact that on December 7, 1787, Delaware was the first state to ratify the United States constitution. (Ironic that in the "worst of the First" constitutional rights are routinely ignored, trampled and subverted...but I'm getting ahead of myself)
Other nicknames are the Blue Hen State, the Diamond State, Small Wonder.
The "worst" refers to the Family Court System of the state.
Delaware is renowned for it's Chancery Court. The Chancery Court is primarily for business litigation and is internationally recognized as a model court. It is a court of equity.
The Family Court and the entire supporting system of the Delaware Family Court is a model also.....of everything wrong, everything inequitable, things that are hard to believe exist anywhere in the United States of America in the 21st century.
That is what this blog is about.
It's a blog to discuss the myriad deficiencies of the Family Court system. To bring the deficiencies to light and to discuss solutions to the issues.
